DAT Delivered at Terminal (…named terminal at port or place of destination)



“Delivered at Terminal” means that the seller delivers the goods, once unloaded from the arriving means of transport, are placed at the disposal of the buyer at a named terminal at the named port or place of destination. "Terminal" includes any place, whether covered or not, such as quay, warehouse, container yard or road, rail or air cargo terminal. The seller bears all risks involved in bringing the goods to and unloading them at the terminal at the named port or place of destination.

This term may be used irrespective of mode of transport. When delivery is to take place at a point other than a terminal, the DAP or DDP term is more appropriate.

    Seller's Primary Duties
  • Contract for carriage to named terminal or place of destination
  • Package and mark goods for export
  • Prepare Documents
  • Commercial invoice
  • Export Customs formalities
  • Export License

    Buyer's Primary Duties
  • Accept goods when delivered to named terminal or place of destination
  • Carry out all customs formalities for the import of goods
  • Obtain import license (when applicable)
  • Pay cost for any required pre-shipment inspection
  • Coordinate and pay inland freight (on-carriage) from named terminal or place to final destination
